This is the first article in a series about the Apple iPad and other Apple mobile devices. As a first time Apple user I would like to share my experiences and what I am learning about the iPad, the iOS operating system and all the apps available.

I noticed it was just about a year ago I was writing about the emergence of tablets onto the marketplace. The iPad was launched in April 2010 and several Kindle eReaders were available. Also starting to come onto the market were other eReaders  and Android tablets. Now we are near the end of 2011 and it is truly amazing what has happened this year in the tablet world - both to the winners and the losers.
